COVID-19
"Childminders are the unsung heroes of the pandemic"
- Liz Bayram, chief executive of their professional association, PACEY
Our aim should be for our children to never notice the difference

My aim is to give your child a little bit of normal in this strange time. Childminders are permitted to operate their normal service without additional restrictions but must remain in line with the latest advice and up to date with current advice. Government advice recognises the importance of children feeling secure and connected to those around them and acknowledges that this must come before the distancing rules we are familiar with as adults, You never have to worry that rules might stop your child feeling welcome and
Life is confusing enough at the moment

Needless to say I have an extremely thorough COVID-19 specific risk assessment and robust policies in place that set out exactly how I will manage various elements of my business whilst managing the risks from COVID-19 as far as practicable. The aim of these policies is not to replicate existing guidance but to set out best practice guidance relating to childminding, reinforce critical information and provide direction to more comprehensive national guidance and advice. You don't need to go through it line by line but you can if you wish, suffice to say that I am doing everything possible to keep your family and mine safe.
Simple rules we can all follow
I have introduced some simple rules for children and adults around themes that are now very familiar to us:
-
Understand and monitor for symptoms
-
Maintain detailed records to assist Track and Trace
-
Enhanced hygiene and cleaning
-
Physical distancing for adults at drop off and collection time
-
Careful consideration of day trips and visits
